Three Green River students graduated from Wyoming Connections Academy May 22.
The students; Bret Crofutt, Moriah Durfee and Anthony Kudar, were part of a 31-student graduating class from the academy. Other students from the academy were from Rock Springs, Powell, Cody and other locations.
The academy reports 68 percent of its graduates plan to attend a university, while the rest have plans to join the military, seek vocational training or find jobs.
“We’re proud to honor the class of 2016 seniors who come from various backgrounds but have all achieved academically,” Ben Kolb, principal at Wyoming Connections Academy, said.
“As these students take the next steps in their adult lives, we look forward to hearing about their future endeavors in education, work and the military.”
Wyoming Connections Academy is wrapping up its seventh year of providing online education to students throughout the state. Currently, the school serves approximately 360 students in Wyoming, operating out of Big Horn County School District No. 1.
The school combines state-certified teachers with a curriculum that meets rigorous state education standards. Socialization opportunities are also offered through various in-person school-sponsored events and field trips, and through participation in clubs and activities and online classroom sessions.
