Leslie "Wayne" Harvey

Leslie "Wayne" Harvey, 81, of Baggs and Overton, Nev., passed away May 25, 2016 at his daughter's home surrounded by his family following a brief illness. 

He was born on Aug. 6, 1934 in Mountain View, the son of the late Bert and Katherine Rounds Harvey.

Harvey married the former Irene Rose Baker in Evanston on April 5, 1957. 

He joined the United States Army in 1954 and obtained his journeyman lineman certification. Following his honorable discharge from the army in 1956 and he became a high wire lineman by trade working throughout the states of Wyoming, Oregon, Utah and California. He retired in 1996 and he and his wife Irene then spent winters in Overton, Nev. enjoying the sunshine.

His interests were tinkering with old cars and enjoying his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed supporting and cheering for them in their sporting activities at rodeo, wrestling, dance, gymnastics, baseball, basketball, volleyball and motocross.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years Irene Harvey of Baggs; three sons, Harold Harvey and wife Jill, Randy Harvey and wife Jamie all of Riverton and Wayne Andersen of Jackson; two daughters, Pam Holder and husband Alan of Rock Springs, Deb Ready and husband Jace of Baggs; grandchildren Deb Jo Nelson of Rock Springs, Aubrey Griffiths and husband R.J. of Rawlins, Tawna Harris and husband Dirk of Lyman, Mandy Young and husband Robbie of Evanston, Kalen Ready of Baggs, and Klay Ready of Baggs, Nicole Fenton and husband Michael of Toelle, Utah, Cami Andersen of Green River, Tandi Metoydr and husband Tim and Roxi Leclair and husband Eric all of Jackson; 16 great-grandchildren; brother Ronald Harvey of Evanston; two step-sisters Judy Annan of Thermopolis and Renee Naylor and husband Emory of Basin; several cousins, nieces and nephews, all from the Bridger Valley. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Bobby Harvey, grandson Jeremy Harvey, granddaughter Annarose Holder, sister Helen Behunin, brother Wes Harvey, one brother who died in infancy, Robert Cecil Harvey, step-mother Evonne Thorton Harvey, step-sister Chyrl Phillips and several brothers and sisters-in-law. 

Following cremation, graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m., June 3 at the Fort Bridger Cemetery in Fort Bridger. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Hall in Fort Bridger.
