Thomas David Vigil died May 5, 2016 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 26, 1945 to Joe C. Vigil and Ida Lacombe Vigil in Alamosa, Colo.
A longtime resident of Green River, Vigil graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1963. He later completed X-Ray tech school following his graduation.
He was later drafted into the U.S. Army. Vigil worked as a radiology technician in Colorado, California and Oregon. After his retirement, he worked as a real estate agent for Castle Rock and Green River Realty.
Vigil was a fan of the Denver Broncos, having attended games since the early 1970s.
His love for the Broncos was only surpassed by the love he shared for family, friends, and his dog Turbo.
Other interests included rock and roll music and vacations to Hawaii and Grand Lake, Colo.
Vigil is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by three children, Thomas Robert Vigil and wife Johanna and Sandy Ann Barbour and husband Jimmy, all of Amelia, Va., and Windy Autumn Driver and husband Scott of Huntsville, Ala.; three sisters, Betty Myrick and husband Alfred of Kingman, Ariz., Marie Colestock and husband Chic and Debbie Thaler, all of Green River; as well as eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of mass will take place at Saint Michael's the Archangel Catholic Church in Aurora, Colo. May 12 at 10:30 a.m., followed by military honors and interment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver at 2 p.m.
