Michael John Perri Sr.

Michael John Perri Sr., 91, passed away April 7, 2016 at his home following a lengthy illness. A Wyoming resident for the past 50 years and former resident of Spring Glen, Utah.  

He was born on April 18, 1924 in Spring Glen, Utah, the son of Domenico Perri and Maria Jiuseppa Fazzio Perri.  

Perri attended the Carbon High School in Price, Utah and graduated with the class of 1944.  

He married Ellen Casella on June 22, 1946 in Helper, Utah and she preceded him in death June 13, 2013.  

Perri worked for Stauffer Chemical for 20 years as a mine supervisor until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.

His interests included spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, gardening, painting, bowling, spending time at his cabin and enjoying the great outdoors.  

Survivors include daughter, Debra L. and husband Mark Rubeck of Rock Springs; daughter-in-law Sandra Perri from St. George, Utah; sister Emma Beacco of Price, Utah and sister-in-law Jama Grundy of Helper, Utah; four grandchildren, Nicki Ann Kirkwood of Spring Glen, Utah, Dennis Perri Rubeck of Green River, James Domanic Rubeck  and Ellen Markae Lester, both of Rock Springs; eight great-grandchildren; Jessica Kirkwood and Jake Kirkwood both of Spring Glen, Utah, Kristen Mitchell, Emma Rubeck, Joseph Lester, Tiana Lester, all of Rock Springs, Chezni Anne Rubeck and Stone Rubeck, both of Green River.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Joseph Perri Jr.; six brothers, Domenic Perri Jr., Basil Bill Perri, Ross Perri, Tony Perri Sr., Angelo Perri and Peter Perri; three sisters, Venice Perri Lami, Florence Perri Butkovich and Viola Perri; three nephews and two nieces.

A vigil service with rosary was recited Monday.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, 210 N. Carbon Ave. in Price, Utah. Graveside services and interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Helper, Utah.  

The family of Mike John Perri respectfully suggests that donations in his memory be made to Rocky Mountain Home Care, 520 Wilkes Drive Suite 14 in Green River.
