Amber Grace Hamblin, 32, of Rock Springs passed away March 10, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.
A longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Green River, Hamblin died following a sudden illness.
She was born on May 31, 1983 in Rock Springs, the daughter of Jerry Hamblin and Cindy Sorensen Hamblin.
She attended schools in Green River and was a Green River High School graduate with the class of 2001.
She also attended Western Wyoming Community College and graduated with an associates degree. She later attended Boise State University earning her bachelor's degree in early childhood special education and was currently working on her master's degree online with University of Pheonix.
She worked with special needs children for many years and was the director of the Children's Center at Western Wyoming Community College. The children that she worked with always called her Miss Amber.
Her interests included spending time with her family, especially with her daughter Lakaya. She spoiled her nieces and nephews and loved teaching children. She liked to make people laugh and enjoyed traveling and raising cancer awareness.
Survivors include her parents Jerry and Cindy Hamblin of Green River; daughter Lakaya Hamblin of Rock Springs; sister Katie Martin and husband Jose "Pepe" of Green River; her boyfriend Ryan James of Rock Springs; her maternal grandmother Cheryl Zimmerman of Green River; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Clarence and Ruth Sorensen, her paternal grandparents Frank and LaRue Hamblin, "Unky" Jack Zimmerman and cousin Blaine Hamblin.
Following cremation, a celebration of Amber's life took place Wednesday.
