Gary E. Hess, 60, of Green River died Feb. 26, 2016, at the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City.
He was born July 26, 1955, in Ajo, Ariz., the son of John Hess and Rachael Rendon Hess.
He attended schools in Ajo and graduated from Ajo High School.
He married Joyce Ann Englert Dec. 2, 1986, in Manila, Utah.
He had worked for Solvay Chemical for almost 27 years.
His interests were hunting, fishing, drawing, hunting for antlers and antler carving, four-wheeling in his jeep with his son Jason, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Joyce Hess of Green River; son Jason Hess and wife Jena of Green River; sisters Dori Brandon and husband Ted of Gilbert, Ariz., Charmaine Hess of Ajo, Ariz .; sister-in-laws Christine Williams and Donna Morison and husband Roby, all of Green River; grandchild Paigelee Hess of Green River; aunt and uncle Jerry and Virgie Leatherwood; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rachael Hess, parents-in-law Don and Edith Englert, grandparents Manuel and Elena Rendon, and several aunts and uncles.
Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory in Rock Springs.
Memorial services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way in Rock Springs. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the services.
