Richard Donald Bergandi, 84, of Rock Springs, passed away Feb. 10, 2016 at his son's home. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, and former resident of Oroville, Calif. Bergandi died following a brief illness.
He was born on Feb. 24, 1931 in Colp, Ill., the son of Fortunato and Grace Silva Bergandi.
Bergandi attended schools in Reliance and was a 1950 graduate of the Reliance High School.
He married Margaret Elaine Wright on June 2, 1955 in Rock Springs, and she preceded him in death April 11, 1976. He later married Donna Pauline LaMont in Jackson, June 24, 1977. Their marriage was blessed in the Roman Catholic Church on April 6, 1984 and she preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 2000.
Bergandi was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and also served with the National Guard for 28 years.
He was employed by F.M.C. in maintenance for 31 years and retired in June of 1985.
His interests included his donkeys and his dog Kia, traveling, tinkering with his cars, traveling and camping. He also was an avid Denver Broncos fan and liked to ride his motorcycle.
Survivors include one son, Richard A. Bergandi and wife Rose of Rock Springs; four daughters, Pam Wiggen and husband Don of Rock Springs, Lisa Kukla and husband Randy of Las Vegas, Charlese Howe and husband John of Rock Springs and Janine Culver of Rock Springs; sister Irene Borgis of Salinas, Calif .; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Ernest Besso; grandson Aaron Richard Bergandi and one daughter, Michelle Culver Dunnohew; three sisters Rosa, Pearl and Mary; and two brothers Chuck and Louie.

Cremation will take place and military graveside services and inurnment took place Monday.
