Burglary at Family Dollar

The Family Dollar in Green River store was burglarized Tuesday night.

The Green River Police Department is investigating the reported burglary. Officers arrived on scene at about 10:50 p.m., after the store’s alarm sounded. The glass door leading into the store was broken into.

Family Dollar’s surveillance camera shows an image of a person wearing tan-colored pants and a blue-green turquoise hooded sweatshirt inside the store.

“At this point, we don’t know if anything was taken or damaged beyond the door,” GRPD public relations officer Luke Benson said.

Benson said the person appeared to be scared off by the business alarm that sounded, and was not in the building for long. Officers believe the person used a tool to break into the business, but are unsure what kind of tool was used at this point.

The investigation continues and the GRPD asks for anyone with information regarding the person captured on surveillance to call Det. Arner Smart at 307-872-0555 or the Sweetwater County Combined Communication Center at 307-875-1400.
