Auditions for the Spring Semester of the Sweetwater Board of Cooperative Educational Services Children’s Honor Choir, will take place the Rock Springs Junior High School Choir room Jan. 6 and 13 from 6-7 p.m.
Children of Sweetwater County, from grades fourth through eighth with unchanged voices, are welcome to attend one of these audition dates and participate in a 5-to-10-minute painless audition with director, Wendy Compton.
During this spring season, the SBOCES Children’s Honor Choir will prepare music for local and regional performances, including a festival performance in Salt Lake City. Several of the members of this choir will also audition to be a part of the Wyoming ACDA Annual Children’s Honor Choir in Sheridan.
The award-winning Sweetwater BOCES Children’s Honor Choir is in its 14th year. It’s goals are: “to promote excellence in choral rehearsal and performance for children in Sweetwater County; to provide group development in vocal performance; and, to sponsor students to perform in State, Regional, and National Honor Choirs.
Weekly rehearsals are Thursdays at the Rock Springs Junior High Choir room from 6-7:30 p.m. For information contact Sarah Wessel at 389-8815 or 382-9337.
