Dennis William Doak, 76, of Rock Springs passed away Jan. 10, 2016 at his home. A Rock Springs native, Doak passed away following a month-long illness.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1939 in Rock Springs, the son of Lester George Doak and Gertrude Ann Dorrence Doak.
Doak attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate of the Rock Springs High School with the class of 1957.
He married Karen Lucchi on Oct. 28, 1967 in Rock Springs.
Doak was employed as an operator for FMC for 43 years and retired in 2006
His interests include exercising at the Rock Springs Family Recreation Center, gambling, arrowhead hunting, fishing, outdoors, gathering firewood and gardening soil. He also had a great love for his dog Cocoa. He was a member of the American Legion Archie Hay Post No. 24 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie No. 151 and also No. 2350.
Survivors include his wife Karen Doak of Rock Springs, son Terry Doak of Rock Springs, daughter Christy Doak of Rock Springs, daughter in law Stacy Aumiller of Mountain View; son in law LeRoy Lange of Rock Springs, three grandchildren Makani Velikaneye, Ali Lange, and Alex Lange and one great granddaughter, Harper Wagner and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Gertrude Doak, two brothers; Lester Doak and Patrick Doak.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 14, 2016 at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 116 Broadway in Rock Springs. Avigil service with rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Military honors and internment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the rosary and one hour prior to the funeral services.
