The Green River High School Boys Swimming and Diving Team didn’t have to travel far to compete two weeks ago.
Due to a problem with the Riverton High School pool, the Riverton Invite was moved to the GRHS aquatics center, giving the team a respite from traveling on the winter roads. At the end of the competition, the teem placed fourth with a score of 183.
Head coach Colleen Seiloff said the team continues to cut time in all of its events. During the 500-yard freestyle, Michael Richmond set a new pool record with a time of 5:15.12. Ethan Moffatt also qualified for state in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.14.
Divers also fared well in the competition. Keyan Moore took second in the 1-meter diving event, scoring 210.75. The score also qualified Moore for state. Seiloff said Coleton Spalding and Miles Moffat also earned solid scores as well. Spalding took sixth with a score of 167.65 while Moffat placed eighth with a score of 165.35.
“We’ve got a great group,” Seiloff said.
