Daniel Anton Dolenc, 93, of Longmont, Colo. died peacefully Dec. 11, 2015 at Safe Harbor assisted living in Longmont, Colo.
He was born January 6, 1922 in Cumberland to Anton and Francis (Dolinar) Dolenc.
In 1942 he enlisted in the United States Navy retiring in 1972 after 30 years of service.
He married Patricia Hornberger on June 24, 1946 in Waukesha, Wisc. She preceded him in death in 1985.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, skiing, ice skating and golf. He has five holes in one and was also a champion bowler.
He is survived by son J. Scott Dolenc (Cecilia) of Longmont; two daughters, Patricia Moore of Aurora, Colo. and Deborah Metzner also of Aurora, Colo .; four grandchildren Brett Dolenc (Kristy), Ben Dolenc, Brooke Nott (Jonathan) and Tyson Moyer; seven great grandchildren Lucie Dolenc, Marin Dolenc, Toben Dolenc, Mckenna Nott, Oakley Nott, Kayden Moyer and Karra Moyer.
He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia; brothers Joseph, Willie, Max, Albert and Tony; one sister Stella.
Funeral services took place Monday.
