This is just one of the many makeup and proscenium jobs the Green River High School students completed at state.
Several Green River High School Theater students received All-State recognition at the Wyoming State Drama competition.
A couple weeks ago, students from all over the state traveled to Laramie to compete with more than 700 students.
GRHS theater director Terrin Musbach said with that many competing, to be ranked among the top 14 is a big accomplishment. She was proud of how the students competed and represented Green River.
Prior to the competition, the students practiced as much as they could in public settings.
"The students had confidence and fun," Musbach said. "I am always impressed by the respectful attitude of our students in public spaces."
GRHS is currently ranked sixth in the 4A category.
Not only did the students get to compete, but they had the opportunity to watch and learn from others.
"Wyoming is very spread out, so it is hard for us to see theater in all of its forms," she said. "This event gives us three days to showcase our work, but also three days to be exposed to the hard work of others."
Students competed in various areas, including one-act plays, monologues, musicals and duets. They also competed in costume, makeup, set design, lighting and publicity.
"State Drama is largely about critiques, so all the work they brought can now be improved in a professional manner," she said. "Theater is an imitation of life, in all ways."
