Visitors to the Sweetwater County Historical Museum will have the chance to see photos of past Christmases on display.
The small exhibit features a number of photos taken from different periods of Green River's history, including photos of different depictions of Santa Claus. The exhibit also features old toys from the museum's collection, including civil war soldiers, a remote control dog and doll houses.
They also feature old fashioned games such as dominoes, which can also be found in the museum's gift shop.
The exhibit features a Victorian Christmas tree, complete with paper crafts and candles tied to the tree.
Visitors can also see Christmas cards displayed on the walls of the museum's basement, featuring a variety of themes. One thing visitors may notice is X-mas being printed on one of the old cards. Museum Curator Brie Blazi said X-mas is an old abbreviation for Christmas as the Greek letter X translates to a "Ch" in English, which she said was a common abbreviation for Christ's name. Greek and Latin were once standard subjects in education, which made the abbreviation X-mas more widely understood than it is today.
