Anne McKinley Elmore

Anne McKinley Elmore, 62, of Green River, passed away Nov. 26, 2015 at her home. A longtime resident of Green River and former resident of Chatom, Ala., Elmore died following a lengthy illness.

She was born on Jan. 19, 1953 in Alabama, the daughter of the late Moulton Manford McKinley and Lula Lee Scarbrough McKinley.

Elmore attended schools in Chatom, Ala. and graduated from the Washington County High School with the class of 1971. She attended and graduated from the University of South Alabama with a certificate in para legal and criminal justice.

She was employed at E-Z Cash as a branch manager and retired Nov. 19, 2015.

Elmore's interests included reading, crafts, spending Friday nights with her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her cherished friends, and being surrounded by family.

Survivors include her partner Larry Cherny of Green River; two daughters, Erica Elmore of Rock Springs, and Lori Johnson and husband Kent of Chatom, Ala.; one sister Faye Pettis of Chatom, Ala.; her special friend Anita Bolt of Green River; four grandchildren Kody Johnson, Kaitlin Johnson, Braiden Hadley and BraiLee Hadley; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents Theodore Scarbrough and Lillie Williams Scarbrough.

Cremation will take place and memorial services were Wednesday at Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel.
