Alice Brooks Calligaro, 94, of Rock Springs passed away Nov. 26, 2015 at Mission at Castle Rock in Green River.
A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Calligaro died following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1921 in Evanston, the daughter of the late Albert C. Brooks and Matilda A. Call Brooks.
Calligaro attended schools in Evanston.
She married Lawrence Joseph Calligaro on Jan. 24, 1941 in Rock Springs and he preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2003.
Calligaro was employed as a clerk for many years at Gibsons and later Pamida.
Her interests included dancing, playing the accordion and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son Victor Calligaro and wife Suzanne of Grand Junction, Colo .; two daughters, Joyce Moriarty Bryson of Murphy, N.C. and Bonnie Bingham and husband Blaine of Green River; seven grandchildren, Victor Calligaro and wife Paula, Annette Bolton Calligaro, Lori Bingham, Blaine Keith Bingham, Jr., Larry Bingham and Russell Stevens; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Matilda Brooks, husband Lawrence, one son Mark Edwin Moriarty, one grandson Joseph Stevens,three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs.
Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Vase Chapel on Thursday one hour prior to services.
