Ghost Walk tickets go on sale

The Sweetwater County Library wants residents to enjoy a Charles Dickens-inspired evening of haunted fun.

The library is hosting the Ghosts of Christmas Past on Saturday, Dec. 5. Tickets for the evening are $25 and go on sale at 9 a.m. Monday. Tickets will only be sold in person at the library; and residents must be at least 15 years old to attend.

Ghosts of Christmas Past is a way for library patrons to enjoy Green River’s haunted library with a little added fun and entertainment to go with it.

“The staff and volunteers will be dressed in period costumes,” Micki Gilmore, reference librarian and event coordinator, said. “We will also offer some entertainment and tasty desserts.” After the entertainment and food, those in attendance will go on a Ghost Walk through the library.

The library has hosted this event for several years and it sells out quickly.

“Tickets are limited, so make sure to visit the library early,” Gilmore said.

Reference specialist Bianca Jorgensen, who is also helping organize Ghosts of Christmas Past, encourages those who are planning to attend to join them in Dickens-era costumes, though they are not required.

“We will also be providing recipe cards for the desserts we will be serving,” Jorgensen said.

Proceeds from the evening benefit the Sweetwater County Library Foundation. The Foundation helps the library build a foundation for lifelong learning by raising and disbursing money to help fund programs beyond what the community’s tax dollars can support. Through the Wyoming Libraries Endowment Challenge, the foundation receives matching funds from the state for every dollar in private funds it raises.
