Police Reports

The Green River Police Department responded to the following calls for service during the last week:

Officers were dispatched to a welfare check on an individual who had not been heard from in a while. Officers contacted the individual who was OK and advised they would contact the concerned party.

Stephany Leasor, age 32 of Green River, was arrested per an active Sweetwater County Warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of domestic battery.

Officers responded to a report of an individual reportedly drawing on a building with a pen or crayon. Officers contacted the individual who left the property.

Officers tagged a vehicle following a report of an abandoned vehicle.

Officers are investigating a report of a larceny. It was reported an individual left a business without paying the full amount on their bill.

Fernando Martinez, age 37 of Rock Springs, was arrested for allegedgly driving while under suspension and active Rock Springs Municipal Court Warrants for failure to appear on original charges of no insurance, expired registration and speeding.

Also, per an active Sweetwater County Warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driver’s license required.

Animal control officers responded to a report of a dog at large. Animal Control Officers posted a notice at the residence.

Officers were dispatched to the Adult Green River Probation and Parole Office for an agency assist.

At the office, officers contacted Jordan Harmon, age 20 of Green River, who was arrested per an arrest an hold order for a probation violation.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen video camera. Officers completed a report regarding the incident which is under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance, in reference to an individual yelling at other people. Upon arrival, officers contacted Jeffrey Ney, age 49 of Pueblo, Colorado, who was arrested for alleged public intoxication.

Officers responded to a report of a juvenile problem, in reference two individuals arguing. Officers contacted the involved parties and their parents, a report was completed regarding the incident.

Kimberly Johnston, age 32 of Green River, was arrested for allegedly driving while under suspension, no insurance (second offense), and ignition interlock device required. Johnston was also issued a citation for cell phone use.

Officers responded to a report of an auto burglary. The reporting party stated a firearm was stolen from their vehicle. Officers completed a report regarding the incident which is under investigation.

Cheri Braden, age 36 of Green River, was arrested for an alleged violation of a protection order and driving while under suspension (second offense).

Officers responded to a report of a hit and run vehicle collision. It was reported a vehicle traveling south on Uinta Drive attempted to merge into the turn lane turn onto Monroe Avenue. The vehicle was struck by another vehicle also traveling southbound in the turn lane. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers responded to a welfare check on an individual. Officers located and checked on the individual. During the incident, Officers contacted another individual, Krystal Wright age 36 of Green River, who was arrested per an active Green River Municipal Court Warrant for contempt of court on an original charge of disturbing the peace.

Officers responded to a two vehicle collision. It was reported a vehicle was traveling north on Uinta Drive and was struck by a vehicle entering onto Uinta Drive from Keith Drive.

Castle Rock Ambulance Service checked on the vehicles occupants who refused transport. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers met with an individual who reported they were contacted by a debt collection agency who contacted them about a past account. The reporting party stated they did not open the account. Officers completed a report regarding the incident which is under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to the School District #2 School Bus Yard, in reference to a passing a school bus violation.

Officers located the driver, a 17 year old female of Green River, who was issued a citation for passing a school bus.

Officers contacted an individual, in reference to an attempted fraud. The reporting party was contacted by an individual over the phone claiming to be a local law enforcement officer. The individual was told there was a warrant for their arrest and to send payment by a pre paid cash card.

The reporting party suspected this to be a scam, contacted the police department and reported no monetary loss.

Officers responded to a two vehicle collision. It was reported a vehicle was traveling south east on East Teton Boulevard, when the driver swerved to miss multiple deer that ran into the street. The vehicle struck a parked vehicle, officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers were dispatched to a single vehicle collision. It was reported an individual parked their vehicle with a manual transmission. As the driver was walking away, the unoccupied vehicle rolled south across the street.

The vehicle struck a bush and the front of a residence. No injuries were reported and minor damage to the vehicle and residence were reported. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers contacted an individual who had questions about a possible check fraud.

Officers contacted an individual who was advised of park hours.

Officers responded to a request for a subject removal. Upon arrival, officers contacted the involved parties who advised they would handle the civil issue between themselves.

Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a dog at large.

Officers contacted an individual regarding an agency assist.

Officers met with an individual for an agency assist.

Officers contacted an individual who had questions regarding a civil dispute.

Officers responded to the Adult Green River Probation and Parole Office for an agency assist.

Officers spoke with a motorist who reportedly was stranded in the area and needed information about services in the area.

Officers attempted to serve court paperwork.

Officers contacted a resident who wanted information regarding a civil matter.

Animal Control Officers met an individual at the animal shelter who found a dog south of Green River. The owner of the dog was located and retrieved their pet.

Animal Control Officers received a call of a large black dog at large.

Animal Control Officers were flagged over by a resident, in reference to a nuisance animal complaint.

Officers responded to a report of a juvenile disturbance. Officers contacted the juvenile and their parent about the incident. The parent had questions about a CHINS (Child in Need of Supervision) petition. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers along with Green River Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a fire. It was reported a bucket outside the residence caught on fire and burnt siding on the residence.

Officers were dispatched to a fire alarm, which was determined to be an alarm test.

Officers responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a 14 year old male on a bicycle, which occurred earlier in the day.

It was reported the cyclist was traveling east on Sundance Drive, failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle traveling north on West Teton Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle attempted to stop and the front of their vehicle struck the back tire of the cyclist. The driver of the vehicle stopped, offered assistance and no injuries were initially reported.

The juvenile was later taken to the hospital by a parent, to be evaluated and was released.

It was later reported to officers the cyclist had bruising, abrasions and a mild concussion. No citations were issued, officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers contacted an individual who had questions regarding a civil matter involving property.

Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle collision. It was reported a vehicle attempting to park in a parking spot collided with a parked vehicle. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers received a report of an injured deer. Officers checked on the deer which was standing up and appeared to be fine.

Officers met an individual at the police department for an agency assist.

Officers were dispatched to a 911 hang up call. Officers contacted the resident and the call was accidental.

Officers responded to a report that an individual’s child received a harassing message on the computer.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel on a medical call.

Officers were dispatched to a report of an altercation.

Upon arrival, officers were advised one of the involved parties left prior to officers arrival.

Officers completed a report regarding the incident, which was forwarded to the Sweetwater County Attorney’s Office.

Officers checked on an unoccupied vehicle outside a building after hours.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers contacted the involved parties and addressed the complaint.
