The YWCA Celebrating Women of Distinction Planning Committee is excited to present the nominees for the 2015 recognition. The committee would like to express their appreciation to all of the individuals that nominated these phenomenal women and encourages the community to come out and show its support at a High Tea Saturday at the Pavilion at Expedition Island in Green River.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Rock Springs and Green River Chambers or at the YWCA, 1035 Jackson Street.
All of the nominees will be recognized and three (one from each category; Young Woman on the Move, Professional Woman of Distinction and Woman of Legacy) will be chosen as the 2015 Woman of Distinction.
A committee comprised of Sweetwater County individuals scored the redacted nominations.
This year the event is in Green River and there are a few nominees that are from there including, Carrie Fischer, Brenda Roosa, Jane Allred and Kayla McDonald.
“All of the nominees have phenomenal stories and are assets to Sweetwater County and we want to emphasize they are all winners,” YWCA Development Director Ruthann Wolfe, said.
The review and selection committee’s job is not an easy one, Wolfe said.
