Robert D. Campbell, 81, of Rock Springs, passed away Sept. 30, 2015 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A long time resident of Rock Springs, Campbell died following a lengthy illness.
He was born on May 25, 1934 in Portland, the son of John and Aletha Martin Campbell.
Campbell attended schools in Shoshone and Riverton.
He married the former Jane Gross on April 2, 2003 in Las Vegas.
Campbell was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was employed most recently by Seven X Energy as a line locator. He had also been a welder for Dale Inskeep for many years.
Campbell was a member of Boilermaker's Union.
Survivors include his wife Jane Campbell of Rock Springs; four daughters Mickey Karlson, Connie Greer, Debbie Young and Teresa Peterson, all of Idaho; brother Martin Campbell of Sunnyside, Wash.; sister Donna McLavey of Everett, Wash.; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Following cremation, a celebration of life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, at Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs.
Friends may call at the Vase Chapel on Friday, one hour prior to services.
