Michael Ray Cachelin, 41, passed away in Green River, Aug. 18, 2015.
He was born Aug. 24, 1973 to Marven Eugene Cachelin and Pauline Beatrice Lopez Cachelin in Lander. His brother, Thomas, was born on July 18, 1977.
During his childhood, the family traveled around some due to his father's work in the oil fields. Michael had healthy interests and did well in school, but was relatively quiet and kept to himself, more so as he got older. In all his activities it was evident that he was happiest when he was outdoors, fishing or hunting. He had an infectious sense of humor, and was always willing to share his knowledge with those he loved.
Michael attended the University of Nebraska where he was in the Navy ROTC for three years. He studied wildlife biology and received his bachelors of science in molecular ecology Dec. 21, 1996.
In 1994, he married Tina Louise Hendrickson in Broken Bow, Neb., and on Feb. 2, 1997, their daughter Megan Elizabeth was born.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Megan Elizabeth Cachelin; brother, Thomas (Janelle Dunmire) Cachelin; and nephews, Carson and Benjamin; niece, Madelyn; grandmother, Bernetta Goodrich; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Marven and mother Pauline.
Funeral services took place today, with burial occurring at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.
