Chester Richard Kizzire, 94, of Green River, passed away July 30, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. He was a long time resident of Green River and former long time resident of Cheyenne.
He was born on May 26, 1921 in Northport, Neb., the son of the late Charles and Hilda Kizzire.
Kizzire attended and graduated from the Granger High School in Granger.
He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II.
Kizzire married the former Margaret "Peggy" Seyfang on Nov. 16, 1947 in Green River. They had been married 67 years.
He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad as a water service foreman.
Kizzire was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Green River.
His interests were his children and grandchildren and being a Green Bay Packers fan.
Survivors include his wife Peggy Kizzire of Green River; two sons, Steven R. Kizzire and wife Connie and Ronald C. Kizzire and wife Robin, all of Green River; three daughters, Susan R. Remus and husband Ted and Glenda L. Edgmon and husband Marvin, all of Green River, and Lori A. Kizzire of Rock Springs; brother Carroll Kizzire of Green River; two sisters, Louise Schaffner of Brigham City, Utah and Betty Sims of Aurora, Colo.; 10 grandchildren Joe Kizzire, Kelley Brown, Kacey Kight, Cathy Saul, Christy Remus, Nikki Conner, Michael Edgmon, Chase Cochrun, Chelsy Kizzire, Chanelle Anglesey; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Cliff Kizzire and sister Charlene Wilson.
The family of Chester Kizzire respectfully suggests that donations in his memory be made to Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 Trona Drive, Green River.
Cremation will take place and graveside services will be announced at a later date.
