Patrick A. Porter, 71, of Green River, passed away July 19, 2015 at his home. A longtime resident of Green River, and former resident of Superior, Porter passed away following a brief illness.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1943 in Rock Springs, the son of the late Harry Kimball Porter, Sr. and Ella Otillia Kampman.
Porter attended schools in Superior and graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1962.
He married Theda A. "Sue" Walker in Riverton April 8, 1996.
Porter worked as an underground machine operator for Tata Chemicals until his retirement in 2001.
Pat loved visits and phone calls from his family members. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR, working in his yard and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include wife Theda "Sue" Porter of Green River; two sons, Greg Porter and wife Jeni of Sterling, Colo. and Chad Porter of Riverton; daughter Wendy Treat and husband Terry of Cheyenne; two step-sons, Joe McTee and wife Linda of Aurora, Colo. and John McTee and wife Rebecca of West Valley, Utah; three brothers, Harry Porter and wife Perline of Layton, Utah, Dave Porter and wife Patti of Larkspur, Colo., and Jim Thomas and wife Dubie of Quinlan, Texas; three sisters, Sue Zueck and husband Frank of Morgan, Utah, Lu Robison and husband Skip of Ft. Bridger, and Linda Phillips and husband Jim of Layton, Utah; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Rebecca Wood and step-son Michael McTee.
Following cremation, memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, at Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs. Friends may call at Vase Chapel on Friday, one hour prior to services.
