Robert "Bob" and Verna Trujillo celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on June 19, 2015.
Robert, then 23, and Verna, 21, were married in Helena, Mont., at the St. John's Lutheran Church in 1960.
They moved to Green River in 1964 where Robert worked for Hilltop Grocery and manager in the meat department while Verna worked in the gift shop at Little America. Robert then worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, putting in 32 years before retiring in 1998. Verna was a full-time wife and mother raising their two boys while working at the Riviera Twin movie theater. Second only to his wife, Robert's true passion is his love for horses and he has always taken pride in spoiling them rotten. Verna has taught the art of making macrame chairs for Western Wyoming Community College the past 20 years. Robert has also been a butcher for 60 years helping out friends and family with their hunting trophies. They both worked for Hertz and Enterprise car rentals enjoying keeping busy and meeting new people.
They have two sons, Fred Trujillo and wife Dawn of Green River and Del Trujillo of Riverton. They also have four grandchildren, Casey Trujillo, Keith Trujillo, Brayden Volcic, and Alexander Erramoupse, all of Green River.
Two grand dogs, Max and Louie and a 31-year-old palomino/appaloosa stallion named Dust Buster Ace.
Their sons will be hosting an open house at the Golden Hour Senior Center, 550 Uinta Drive, in Green River on July 17 from 4-9 p.m. Friends and family are encouraged to stop by to visit and celebrate with them.
