Kenneth Leroy Brandner, 78, of Green River, passed away June 1, 2015, at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River.
A longtime resident of Green River, Brandner died following a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 20, 1937 in Lasalle, Ill., the son of the late Clifford Leroy and Virginia Maggio Brandner.
Brandner attended schools in Green River and was a 1955 graduate of Lincoln High School. He attended Western Wyoming Community College and received an associate of arts degree in 1994. Brandner attended and graduated in 1986 from the University of Wyoming and obtained a bachelor of science degree.
He was a United States Army Veteran. Brandner was inducted into the service on May 20, 1958, and was given an honorable discharge on May 2, 1961.
He married Margaret Ann Shaw in Green River Dec. 26, 1970, and they later divorced.
Brandner was the owner of Brandner Plumbing from 1967 until his retirement in 2002.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
His interests included spending time with family and friends, playing cards, bowling, drawing, writing stories, gardening and woodworking.
Survivors include one son, Micah Brandner of Green River; one daughter, Michele Moritz and husband Robert of Green River; one brother, David Brandner and wife Lois of Green River; two sisters, Almeda Sun and Carol Brandner both of Orlando, Fla .; two grandchildren Chelsey Venuti of San Jose, Calif. and Cherylann Moritz of Green River; several cousins; two nephews, Jon Brandner of Belgium and Derek Brandner Orlando, Fla. and one niece Angela Brandner of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Following cremation, memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. June 10, at Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel at 263 East Flaming Gorge Way in Green River. Friends may call at the chapel one hour prior to services.
