Phyllis Green

Phyllis Green, 79, of Rock Springs passed away April 29, 2015, at her home. A longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Superior and Springfield, Ill .; Green passed away following a brief illness.

She was born in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of the late Edward Spisak and Esther Currie Spisak.

Green attended schools in Springfield, Ill., and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy with the class of 1955.

She married John Green in Springfield, Ill., and he preceded her in death in September 2001.

Green worked for Bridger Coal for 19 years until her retirement in 1998.

Her interests included fishing, arrowhead hunting, playing bingo and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Mark Douglas of Rock Springs; four daughters, Yvonne Douglas of Rock Springs, Cindy Rauch and husband Paul of Hidalgo, Ill., Kindra Douglas of Rock Springs and Lorrie Schumacher and husband Robert of Cheyenne and one brother John Spisak and wife Alice of Sacramento, Calif .; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services took place today.
