It was a great state meet for the Green River High School dance team.
Competing at the 4A State Spirit competition in Casper, Green River finished third out of ten teams in the hip-hop category and fourth in the jazz dance competition.
“They did wonderful,” coach Jill Boylen said. “I’m so so proud of them. They were just beautiful on the floor,” she said.
Green River finished just behind Kelly Walsh and Rock Springs in the hip-hop division. Boylen said the girls were really excited about this because it was the first time they competed in that division.
Boylen said the competition was tough at the state meet, but when the girls left the floor, they thought that was the best they’ve ever done.
“As long as you come off thinking you’re amazing, that’s our job,” she said.
Boylen praised the team for their hard work during the season when they would practice Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and eight hours on Saturday.
