Wendell M. Finstad

Wendell M. Finstad, 63, of Rock Springs passed away March 15, 2015 at his home.

A resident of Rock Springs for the past 35 years, Finstad passed away following a brief illness.

He was born in Thief River Falls, Minn., the son of Kenneth Arnold Finstad and Doris Eleanor Wasley.

Finstad attended schools in Thief River Falls, Minn. and Harlowton, Mont. and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1969.

He married Michelle Laker in Eden Valley in 2005.

Finstad owned and operated FWD Construction for many years.

Survivors include his wife Michelle Laker of Rock Springs; his mother Doris Finstad of Harlowton, Mont .; one son, Taral Finstad of Forsyth, Mont; one step-son, Tyson Markham and wife Jessica of Laramie; one brother, Terry Finstad and wife Florian of Tigard, Ore .; three sisters, Darlene Roden and husband Ken of Algonquin, Ill., Dorthy Finstad of South St. Paul, Minn. and Karen Hammel of Harlowton, Mont .; one granddaughter, Nora Markham, several aunts and cousins; three nephews, Brent and Brooks Hammel of Billings, Mont. and Antonio from Tigard, Ore. and one niece, Sabrina of Tigard, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Finstad; one brother, Brian Finstad and one brother-in-law, Richard Hammel.

The family of Wendell M. Finstad respectfully request that donations be made in his memory to Hospice of Sweetwater County, 333 Broadway, Suite 220, Rock Springs, Wyoming 82901.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services per his request.
