Sister Betty Lorenz, OLVM, 97, of Victory Noll, Huntington, Ind. passed away March 8, 2015, at Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll, Huntington, Ind.
Sister Betty was born in Eden Prairie, Minn. on Dec. 27, 1917 to Joseph and Mary Dvorak Lorenz.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Lorenz Jr. and Francis Lorenz; and four sisters, Magdalen Lorenz, Alice Lorenz, Beatrice Gardner and Margaret Haworth. Surviving are two sisters, Bernice Fasnacht of Shoreline, Wash., and Edith Hefflinger of Portland, Ore.
She is also survived by her Victory Noll sisters with whom she shared life and community for 75 years.
Sister Betty entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Oct. 29, 1940 and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1943. She served in the missions in Michigan, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Missouri, California and Wyoming.
She returned to Victory Noll in 2011 to retire.
A vigil took place Wednesday.
Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday with calling one hour prior to the mass from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel at 1900 W Park Drive in Huntington, Ind.
Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington, Ind.
