It was another strong week for the Green River High School wrestling team.
The Wolves were a perfect 4-0 in varsity dual matches. The junior varsity was also a perfect 2-0.
Green River started their stellar performances last Friday night with a 54-18 drubbing of Star Valley in Wolves Gymnasium.
"Our wrestlers kept up the intensity Friday night. Star Valley is one of the top teams in 3A and we wrestled well to beat them. We won a few matches that could have gone either way and that shows the toughness we have had the past few weeks," head coach Marshall Rhodes said.
On Saturday, Green River traveled to the Conference Dual competition in Rock Springs and defeated Riverton 66-16, Kelly Walsh 57-15, and Natrona 53-19.
"We wrestled hard in the conference duals as well, most wrestled with the confidence we need to make a run in the next month," he said.
The Wolves will be back in action this evening when they travel for a dual against Evanston. After a day off, they will head to Riverton Friday to compete at the Ron Thon Tournament.
"It will be nice to see the rest of the teams in the state next week to see where we are. I am confident in our team at this point, they are improving and working hard every week," Rhodes said. "We haven't seen many of the Wyoming schools but I think we match up pretty well with anyone, it will be a fun stretch here at the end."
The Green River junior varsity defeated Star Valley 39-21 and Riverton, 45-21.
