Swimmers strong against Central

The Green River High School boy’s swim team put up a strong performance last Friday on the road at Cheyenne Central.

While the Wolves lost a close battle to the Indians 92-86, Green River came away with six first-place finishes.

It was a strong day for senior standout Paul Wright, who finished first in the 200-yard IM and 100-yard butterfly.

Phillip Blume finished first in the 100-yard backstroke and Brendan Bloomquist placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The Green River 200-yard freestyle relay team of Wright, Ethan Moffatt, Brendan Bloomquist and Logan Johnson finished in first place.

The 400-yard relay team of Nick Green, Dalton Minor, Philip Blume and Waleon Strange also finished in first.

Other top finishes for Green River included Bloomquist finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle, Philip Blume finishing fifth in the 50-yard freestyle, and Miles Moffatt finishing fifth in the 100-yard freestyle.

Miles Moffat finished fourth and Jay Erickson finished fifth in one-meter diving.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Christopher Perez, Strange, Miles Moffat and Erickson finished in third place.

Nick Green finished second and Steven Weaver finished third in the 100-yard backstroke.

Ethan Moffatt finished second and Logan Johnson finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Perez, Spalding, Weaver and Moffatt finished in second place.

This Saturday, Green River will travel to Lyman for the Southwest Invite.
