Master builders from throughout Green River spent a few hours at the Sweetwater County Library constructing things from the wildest parts of their imaginations.
The library hosted a Lego building program as part of its monthly Super Saturday series of events. Last year, the library conducted a Lego donation drive, accepting unused building bricks and figures and collected several thousand individual bricks, enough to fit in two large plastic containers.
Becky Iwen, youth services director at the library, said the library hosts the Lego building day every two months. Super Saturdays are events geared to school-aged children and features events such as the library's Harry Potter party and next month's Dr. Seuss event.
As far as Lego building goes, Iwen said they simply let the children do what they want.
"All of their stuff is so unique," she said. "We just encourage them to play and have fun."
That, she believes, is part of the appeal creative toys such as Lego bricks and other building sets have. While the library encourages children anything their imaginations can dream up, it also sets a monthly theme for builders to work towards. This month, the theme is food.
Iwen also said the the library has a display case available to both child and adult lego builders to show off their creations.
