Darhl LaRue Varley Kizzire

Darhl LaRue Varley Kizzire, 84, of Green River passed away Jan. 9, 2015 at Deer Trail Assisted Living in Rock Springs. A longtime resident of Green River and former resident of Bitter Creek, Kizzire died following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born on July 7, 1930 in Rock Springs, the daughter of the late Glen W. Varley and Ethel Bateman Varley.

Kizzire attended schools at Bitter Creek and Rock Springs. She was a 1948 graduate of Rock Springs High School.

She married Carroll LeRoy Kizzire at Bitter Creek on Sept. 4, 1948.

Kizzire was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Puzzled Pieces Quilt Club, Girl Scouts of America, past officer of the Good Sam Club and Union Pacific Old Timers,.

Her interests included spending time with her family, camping and traveling, quilting, reading, collecting spoons and thimbles and working puzzles. She enjoyed Lady Green River Wolves sports and was their number one fan.

Survivors include her husband Carroll LeRoy Kizzire of Green River; four daughters, Kathryn Rees and husband Ron of Big Piney, Connie Stonebraker and husband Randy of Green River, Barbara Bess and husband Dave of Park Hills, Mo. and Dorothy Kizzire and companion Mark Pond of Green River; one son, Glen Charly Kizzire of Aurora, Colo.; one brother Ed Varley and wife Rae Dell of Point of Rocks; 17 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law John and Sally Varley; sister and brother-in-law Glenna and Harold Yedinak.

The family suggests casual wear for the services.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at the L.D.S. Stake Center, 120 Shoshone, in Green River. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the L.D.S. Stake Center on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday morning, one hour prior to services.
