Many of Green River's middle schoolers got a chance to experience the pirate's life while celebrating the new year at the Green River Recreation Center.
The center hosted its long-running party for middle school students last week, giving them a chance to dig for treasure and build treasure chests, along with other popular activities including human bowling, karaoke, photo booth pictures and bingo.
Each year, the center hosts the party to give children a chance to celebrate the new year in a safe environment. It has also become a popular event, with several dozen middle school-aged children showing up to have one last party before the coming of the new year.
