Armando Dominguez, 86, of Green River passed away Dec. 29, 2014 at the Mission at Castle Rock Convalescent Center. Dominguez was a longtime resident of Green River and former resident of Albuquerque, N.M.
He was born on July 29, 1928 in Llano, N.M., the son of the late Matias and Doloritas Dominguez.
Dominguez attended schools in Penaso, N.M. and later received his GED.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. In 1948 at the age of 20, he enlisted in the United States Army and after basic training was assigned to the 508 MP battalion in Korea until discharged in 1954.
In 1957 he married Abenicia Fresquez and she preceded him in death in 1992.
He later moved to Green River and married Katie Bernal Mares.
He was employed as a carpenter by Local 1319 of Albuquerque, N.M. from 1965 until retirement in 1982. He later was employed as a security guard for the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.
He had spent the last year at the Mission at Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Local 1319 in Albequerque, N.M., Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and AA.
Survivors include his wife Katie Dominguez of Green River; one sister Elma Maestas of Green River; several nieces and nephews including Tina Goglio and husband Kevin and Marian Punches and husband Les, all of Green River.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Manual Dominguez.
A mass of Christian burial took place today.
