Shirley M. Cilensek

Shirley M. Cilensek, 78, of Rock Springs passed away Dec. 21, 2014, at her home.  She had been a longtime resident of Rock Springs.

Cilensek was born July 30, 1936, in Nuckolls County, Neb., the daughter of the late Louie and Lena Tegtmeier Meyer.

She attended school in Boise, Idaho, and graduated from Boise High School in 1953.

 Cilensek graduated in 1956 from St. Alphonsus School of Nursing.

She married Carl Cilensek in Green River on June 29, 1957m, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2001.

Cilensek was employed at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County and retired in 1959.

Her interests included traveling to the cabin, cross stitch and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She volunteered at the hospital and also crocheted baby blankets for the newborn babies at the hospital.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.

Survivors include two daughters Cheryl Harrelson Masters and husband Pete of Sheridan and Cindy Current and husband Bill of Rock Springs; one sister Edna Epley of Superior, Neb.; five grandchildren, Stephanie Current, Jennifer Current, Jessica Harrelson, Christina Harrelson and Ben Cilensek and companion Alexie Pitsch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl; two sons Gary Cilensek and Ricky Cilensek; three sisters Mildred, Margaret and Pauline and one brother Alfred.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 at the Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger, Rock Springs, Wy.  A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at the church.  Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
