Irma Evelyn Parkko Anselmi, 97, of Rock Springs passed away Dec. 19, 2014, at her home.
A lifelong resident of Rock Springs, Anselmi died following a sudden illness.
She was born on April 27, 1917, in Hanna, Wyo., the daughter of the late Jacob Emil Parkko and Edith Marie Koski.
Anselmi attended schools in Rock Springs and was a 1934 graduate of the Rock Springs High School.
She married Angelo Anselmi on June 24, 1936, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2007.
Anselmi was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.
Her interests included reading, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, sewing and taking care of her plants and pets her cat Itsy Bitsy, and her dog Pepper.
She enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Bondurant with her family.
Survivors include two daughters Nancy Andersen and husband George of Rock Springs, and Judy Sutton and husband Sid of Arvada, Colo .; daughter-in-law Jean Anselmi of Rock Springs; nine grandchildren Susan Turachak and husband Jimmy, Michael Sutton and wife Heather, Joni Milliron, Jackie Ballinger and husband Greg, Kristi Andersen, Tom Andersen, Amy Faigl, Angie Donelan and husband John and Tina Moulaye and husband Youba; great grandchildren Nikki Biersdorfer and husband Travis, Robbi Floyd, Zach Sutton, Sydney Sutton, Matthew Milliron, David Milliron, Jenna Thompson, Emily Thompson, Ellen Thompson, Nick Faigl, Tommy Faigl, Michael Faigl, Luke McConville, Beau Donelan, Ruby Donelan, Souleyman Moulaye and Maeel Moulaye; her caregiver Debbie Green.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Angelo; one son Jim Anselmi; sisters Alma Hansen, Aune Paton and Vieno Asiala; her grandson-in-law Brad Faigl.
Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Avenue, Rock Springs, Wy. A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wy. Inurnment will be in the St. Joseph's Section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday at the Vase Chapel one hour prior to the rosary and on Saturday at the church one hour prior to services.
