Squad fights to the final whistle

While the score may not have gone the way they wanted, there was definitely no quit in the Green River Lady Wolves basketball team.

Trailing 45 to 13 at the end of third quarter last Friday night against Star Valley, the Wolves put together their best quarter of the game and scored 13 points in the fourth of the 63-26 loss.

Following the game, first-year head coach Aric Hanusa was pleased with the hustle of his team throughout the entire game and said this is something they have done since the first day of practice.

“It was awesome, there was under a minute left and I’ve got a girl on the floor hustling after a loose ball. As I coach, I could not be prouder, no matter what the score is,” he said. “They fought hard to the end.”

Kasey Turnbull said that her team will not quit.

“That’s what Green River basketball is all about. We never stop fighting,” she said.

While pleased with the hustle against the Lady Braves, Hanusa said it is also something that will continue to improve this season.
