Leotrice N. Lev

Leotrice N. Lev, 92, of Green River passed away Dec. 4 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A longtime resident of Green River, Lev died following a brief illness.

She was born on Sept. 10, 1922 in Graceville, Minn., the daughter of David D. Weins and Ella Louis Quade.

Lev attended schools in Duluth, Minn. and was a 1940 graduate of Central High School. She graduated with a bachelor degree in music and math from Duluth State Teacher's College. She received a master's degree in special education from the University of Wyoming.

She married George Andy Lev in Duluth, Minn. on Dec. 21, 1951 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 2014.

Lev was employed as the first special education teacher for Sweetwater County School District No. 2 for many years and retired in 1982. She previously taught in Bagley, Proctor and Cromwell, Minn. and Pinedale. She was also on the Wyoming Developmental School Board.

She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and  St. Theresa's Guild in Green River. A lifetime member of VFW Auxilary and Military Order of the Cootie Women's Auxilary. A lifetime member of National Education Association. Lev was a girl scout and Cub Scout Leader.

She had a special interest in wild flowers from her youth and was known for her dry flower arrangements called "Bit and Pieces of Wyoming." She volunteered for decades at the St. John's Episcopal Thrift Shop. Her other interests included floating rivers, snow machining, four wheeling, gathering flowers on the Wyoming Range and she loved to play games.

Survivors include two sons, David Lev and wife Susie of Green River and Andy Lev and wife Kriste of Rock Springs; one daughter, Trice Ann Roberts and husband Edward of San Pablo, Calif .; two brothers, Allen Wiens and wife Louise of Duluth, Minn. and Marvin Wiens and wife Doris of Lincoln, Neb .; one sister, Verdella Jacobson of Duluth, Minn .; grandchildren Sierra Gray and husband Stuart of Baltimore, Zach Roberts of San Pablo, Calif., Christy Lev of Rock Springs, Thomas Lev and wife Marcia of Casper, and Peter Fleming of Rock Springs, Jeremy Winn and wife Heather of Gillette, Charles Winn of Greeley ,Colo .; great-grandchildren Meghan Brewer and Michael Lev both of Casper, and Dominic Fleming of Rock Springs, Codie Winn, Wyatt Winn and Hayden Winn, all of Gillette, and Adam Winn of Greeley, Colo .; as well as several nieces, nephews and three cousins.  

She was preceded in death by her husband George Andy Lev; her parents; one granddaughter, Janice Marie Lev and one grandson, Timotohy Alex Winn.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at 465 Nolan Street in Green River.

Following cremation, memorial services will take place at 10 a.m. Dec. 19, at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Green River. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
