Albert Jewel Kiser, 93, of Rock Springs passed away on Nov. 28, 2014 at the Deer Trail Assisted Living in Rock Springs.
Kiser died following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1921 in Glover, Colo., the son of the late Elmer and Bessie Kiser.
Kiser attended school in Cheyenne.
He married Maxine Dwyer and they later divorced. He married Dolores M. Hornsby in June of 1984 in Pinedale, and she preceded him in death on April 8, 2014
Kiser was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He served from June 22, 1944 until Feb. 2, 1946 when he was honorably discharged. He was awarded the silver star in World War II.
Kiser was employed with Mountain Fuel, later Questar, for 30 years and retired as a heavy equipment foreman.
His interests included hunting and walking in the mountains.
He is survived by three sons, Steven Ronald Kiser and Kipper Kiser, both of Rock Springs and Brad Kiser of Grand Junction, Colo .; step-son David Hornsby of Las Vegas, Nev .; one daughter, Paula Foianini of Wenatchee, Wash .; two step-daughters, Debbie Covey of Ames, Iowa and Kim Duncan of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters; his wife Dolores; and one daughter, Trudy Barlow.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life on Aspen Mountain in the summer.
