Barbara "Bonnie" Jean Webb, 65, of Rock Springs, passed away Nov. 22, at her home surrounded by her family. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Webb endured a two year battle with cancer. She was born on Aug. 7, 1949 in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of Sammie and Bobbi Lee Hollis Gaines. In 1975 she moved to Rock Springs, where she met the love of her life and she married Earl Webb Jr. on April 19, 1979. Webb cherished her family, friends and her dog Leo. She would say she loved hard. She loved helping others any way that she could. Her favorite pastime was watching sporting events at the local sports bar. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Earl Webb Jr. of Rock Springs; one daughter, Monica Wright-Fleming of Evansville, Ind.; three sons, Darrell Gaines and Claude Phillips, both of Memphis, Tenn. and Orlando Webb of Rock Springs; four sisters, Janis Gaines, Donna Lundy, and Hazel Adams, all of Memphis, Tenn., and Sami Gaines of Maryland; three grandchildren, Skylar Ruff, Utah Malone, and Lisa Gaines; sisters-in-law Regina Webb, Peggy Webb and Tina Newman, all of Rock Springs; brother-in-law Kevin Webb of Rock Springs; one niece and three nephews; her father-in-law Earl Webb Sr. and a host of many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sammie and Bobbi Lee Hollis Gaines, one brother, Wendall House; and mother-in-law Blanche Webb. Following cremation, a celebration of life will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at the New Hope Baptist Church in Rock Springs. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
