For the second year in a row, the Golden Hour Senior Center will host a Christmas Craft Fair.
"We are sold out. We have over 70 tables," GHSC executive director Beth Whitman said.
Residents attending the fair can expect to find a little bit of everything. From crafts, candles and jewelry to jellies, jams and baked goods.
Whitman believes the craft fair will be the kick off to the holiday season; and is hoping many residents will take advantage and find a one-of-a-kind unique gift at the fair.
The early-bird special starts Friday. Those who cannot wait until Saturday can have first choice at everything. All they need to do is pay a $5 entry fee between 3-8 p.m. Friday.
"The benefit is you get first choice of everything," Whitman said.
On Saturday the event is free and open to the public and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To accommodate all of the booths, the entire center, including the community nursing and food bank hallways will be open. Whitman said she appreciated the other groups helping the center out.
Food will also be served both days for $6. Residents can choose from chili cheese dogs, soup in a bread bowl or chicken wraps. Sides, beverages and dessert are also included in the price.
"This is our biggest fundraiser," Whitman said. "We are really trying to make sure the community feels welcome."
Not only was last year's craft fair a success for the center, but for the venders as well.
Whitman said several vendors told her they had brought enough stuff for three craft fairs, but they sold out. To maximize attendance, the craft fair's date was picked on a weekend that no other craft was taking place in the area.
This is something the center likes doing for the community, she said. Most of the venders are local, but there are some from outside of the community.
