Lora Marian Mills Foster, 88, of Trumbull, Conn., died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at the Deseret Health and Rehab in Rock Springs, with family at her side.
A resident of Trumbull, Conn., Foster passed away following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Westport, Conn., the daughter of Robert R. Mills, II and Lois Althea (Stevens) Mills.
Foster attended schools in Westport, Conn.,and graduated from Staples High School with the Class of 1944.
She also earned a degree as a Registered Nurse at the State Hospital in Utica, N.Y.
She married Arthur A. Foster in Westport, Conn., June 6, 1953, and he preceded her in death in Trumbull, Conn., on Feb. 14, 1993.
She worked as a Registered Nurse for various employers and was also a homemaker. She retired in 1990.
Her interests include dreading, gardening, quilting, woodcarving, crocheting, painting, bird-watching, traveling and genealogy. She was married almost 40 years to the love of her life.
Survivors include one son Gary Foster of Cooperstown, N.Y.; two daughters Diane Valentine of Rock Springs, and Nancy Symski and husband Tom of Shelton, Conn.
She had five grandchildren Stephen, Daniel and Rachel Symski; and Alex (Cassy) and Lena Valentine.
Lora was blessed with two great grand children - Bentley Valentine of Ashland, N.E. and Natalie Olmsted of Rock Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Sam and Eddie; and two sisters Jane and Barb Mills.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date in Connecticut.
