Younger runners start 2014 season

Just prior to the start of the varsity races, the future stars of Green River cross country were able to shine last Friday at Stratton-Myers park.

Both the Green River boys and girls middle school teams competed at the Green River Invitational. Instead of a 5k distance, the younger runners did an 1,800-meter run.

Tanner Adam had the best overall finish for Green River, finishing in second with a time of 6:47. Josh Mattson finished in fourth win a time of 7:09. Hunter Stojadinovic was also in the top 15 for Green River with a time of 7:10.

The top finisher for the Green River girls team was Jade Arnell who ended the race in sixth place and a time of 7:49. Kaisa Arnell was eighth with a time of 7:49. Adriana Barahona was in 10th, Carly Kettering finished 11th and Asley Jensen ended the race in 15th place.
