Golfers host Regional Match Play Event

While it was the opening weekend for many of the high school sports across the state, the Green River High School golf team was able to compete for the second time this season at last week’s Rock Springs Invitational.

Green River was once again led by Brock Ortega who led the Wolves with a team high finish of 12th place with a two-day total of 155.

Kyle Goglio ended with a 178, JD Richardson had a 206, Pat Harvey fired a 224 and William Valdez ended the tournament with a combined score of 231.

On the girl’s side Sidney Mandros ended the two day tournament with a score of 214 that secured her a 21st place finish. Kelsey Barton ended with a total of 218 and Michelle Lomstock finished with a 259.

The Green River High School golf team will look to shine tomorrow at their lone 2014 appearance on their home course.

The Wolves are set to host the two-day Regional Match Play event at Rolling Green Country Club.
