The Green River High School golf team was the first local team to start the season.
The Wolves boys and girls teams headed to Riverton last Thursday for a two-day tournament.
Leading the way for the boy’s team was Brock Ortega who had a two-day total of 169 and finished in 20th place. Kyle Goglio finished 25th with a 173.
J.D. Richardson and Trevor Ginestar tied for 46th with a two-day total of 220. Patrick Harvey finished in 49th place with a total of 240 strokes.
The team ended up in tenth place.
On the girl’s side, Kelsee Barton had the lowest total with a 230 and finished in 22nd place. Sydney Mandors was right behind her with a 231. The team did not place in the team standings because they did not have enough players. This week Green River will return to the links Thursday for a two-day tournament in Rock Springs.
