Olive Belle Lowell

Olive Belle Lowell, 69, died on Thursday August 21, 2014 at the Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. after a sudden illness.

She was a long time resident of Green River.

She was born July 19, 1945 in Lovell, the daughter of Elwood M. Porter and Jean E. Porter Wheeler.

She attended schools in Otto and graduated from Basin High School with the class of 1963.

She married Ralph E. Lowell on July 4, 1968 in Salt Lake LDS Temple in Salt Lake City.  She had been a teacher with Sweetwater County School District No. 2 for 34 years, retiring July 2003.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was also a member of the Wyoming Education Association, TOPS, Mayflower Society, and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Her interests were sewing, camping, traveling, visiting relative and friends, walking and reading.

Survivors include her husband Ralph E. Lowell of Springfield, Ohio; sons Von T. Lowell and wife Kelly of Springfield, Ohio and Jared Lowell and wife Cherie of Harriman, Utah; brother, Elwood Porter and wife Wendy of Harriman, Utah; sisters Loretta Norman and husband Louis of Phoenix, Ariz., and Valeria McNiven of Sandy, Utah; grandchildren Mckayl Lowell and Tryston Lowell; step grandchildren Samantha and Connor Wise and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Levi Porter and nephews Scott McNiven and Lane Norman.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday at the Green River LDS Stake Center at 120 Shoshone in Green River. 

A viewing will take place from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday one hour prior to the services at the church.

Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery in Green River.
