Dorothy Louise Widic, 92, returned to her Heavenly Father on Aug. 3.
She was born Sept. 21, 1921 in Ogden, Utah to Ruth May Robison and Ivan R. Perkins. Shortly after her birth she and the family moved to Green River, where Widic attended and graduated from high school. While in Green River, she met and married her sweetheart, Elmer J. Widic, in June of 1939.
During her lifetime Dorothy worked for many businesses. She and her husband had many business ventures. They were employed by Mountain Fuel Supply in the gas fields of Northern Utah and Wyoming. She volunteered at the Visitors Center in Flaming Gorge for about six years. In 1982 they retired and moved back to Ogden.
Widic was preceded in by death by her husband, Elmer, of 72 years and a daughter, Donna Widic. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Spencer of Mt. Home, Idaho; four grandchildren; her brother, Melvin Perkins of Sun Lakes, Ariz. and her sister, Blanche Brown of Ogden, Utah. She was also blessed with several nieces and nephews and a large number of dear friends.
A celebration of her life took place Aug. 7.
