    Green River competed this past weekend in the state's largest wrestling tournament, the Ron Thon Memorial in Riverton. The tournament had 37 teams in the Boys Varsity division and the largest field since the inception of Girls Varsity Wrestling in the Girls division.     The Green River High School Boys and Girls Indoor Track team traveled south this past week to compete in the annual Weber State Indoor Invitational for the first time since the COVID-19 cancellations. Green River competed with 58 teams from Idaho, Utah, Nevada and Wyoming in a huge regional meet. The Wolves had 21 athletes competing in 35 events, one competitor participating in three events, and several others competing in two events.     The Green River Wolves Swimming and Diving team had two intense days of swimming last week. On Thursday, they traveled to compete in a dual match against the Rawlins Outlaws. They won all but one of the individual events during the competition and ended the meet with a score of 115, beating Rawlins who finished with 69.     The Green River High School Indoor Track teams traveled South to Provo, Utah this past Friday to participate with a limited number of competitors in just the two mile and a couple of field events along with a huge field of 95 other high schools from throughout the region.     The Lady Wolves traveled to Evanston last Thursday and played against the Evanston Red Devils for their first conference game.     The Green River Boys basketball team played in two conference games last Thursday and Saturday. On Thursday, January 19, the boys played Evanston. The top scorers were Theran Archibald with 13 points and Kason Ivie with eight points. Theran Archibald lead the team with eight rebounds, and Caleb Lake had four assists.     The Green River Boys Swimming and Diving team had a fantastic weekend in the pool. They won both of the meets they competed in and the whole team contributed to the Wolves' victories. A lot of points were racked up in both meets thanks to the competitive divers that Green River has this year.     The Green River Lady Wolves competed in the James Johnson Winter Classic in Laramie and Cheyenne last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Lady Wolves played in Laramie on Thursday against the Lady Plainsman. They started out slow but ended up playing better as the game went on, only losing to Laramie by seven points.     Wrestling Facing challenges and tough competition, the Wolves wrestling team persevered through the season and ended up sending 15 wrestlers to the State tournament.
