    This past Friday and Saturday, Green River High School hosted the Thoman Memorial Wrestling Tournament with 20 schools competing from throughout Wyoming as well as out-of-state teams from Rifle, Colorado; Uintah, Utah; Grantsville, Utah; and Salem Hills, Utah.     The Green River Boys Swimming and Diving team had a fantastic weekend in the pool. They won both of the meets they competed in and the whole team contributed to the Wolves' victories. A lot of points were racked up in both meets thanks to the competitive divers that Green River has this year. Braxton Cordova took first place in both meets, followed by top finishers Kyle Kight and River Kirts.     The Green River Lady Wolves competed in the James Johnson Winter Classic in Laramie and Cheyenne last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Lady Wolves played in Laramie on Thursday against the Lady Plainsman. They started out slow but ended up playing better as the game went on, only losing to Laramie by seven points.     The Green River Wolves Boys basketball team played in another tournament the weekend of January 5 through January 7. On Thursday, January 5, the boys played Laramie. The top scorers were Xander Lindsey and Theron Archibald with 11 points each, Hunter Lake with with 10 points and Kason Ivie with nine points.     This past Friday and Saturday the Green River High School Wrestling teams split up, with six wrestlers traveling to Fresno, California to compete in the Doc Buchanan Invitational Wrestling Tournament, which is recognized as the toughest high school tournament on the West Coast.     There wasn't much of a holiday break for the Green River Wolves Swimming and Diving team. They traveled to Laramie and competed on December 29 and 30. Green River's Brady Young dominated the 200 and 500 Freestyle events, making him one of only two swimmers who were double-event winners at the Laramie Holiday Invite.     Wrestling Facing challenges and tough competition, the Wolves wrestling team persevered through the season and ended up sending 15 wrestlers to the State tournament. At the tournament, eight wrestlers placed and the team came home with a third-place finish overall. Tommy Dalton and Kale Knezovich, both at their second championship, earned State titles.     This past weekend, the Wolves Boys Basketball team took on Pinedale, Bear Lake, and Rawlins in the Flaming Gorge Classic Tournament.
